Bhat Bio-Life is a Division of Bhat
Bio-tech India (P) Limited which was founded in 1994.
Since its inception, the company is into design and development of
specialized reagents like
Recombinant Proteins which are used as a raw material in producing
various Diagnostic
Tests like Rapid Cards, ELISA Kits etc and is continuously
manufacturing and supplying to kit
manufacturers across the Globe.
We have the state-of-the-art
facility and experience to produce recombinant proteins,
monoclonal antibodies, polyclonal antibodies, expression, and
purification of proteins etc.
The collaborative work with the well-known institutions shows the
commitment that we are
showing towards the research and development of new products. Our
products are
manufactured with International Standards like ISO 9001, ISO 13485,
CE and GMP
compliances. Production of antigens in animal and E. coli cells.
These proteins are used to
produce kits for the detection of HIV, Malaria, Syphilis, etc. We
work also on methods that
allow protein production in soluble form and not completely in
inclusion bodies using
different methods that include studies on the precipitation
behaviour of the eluted protein,
use of different strains of bacteria where the protein is produced
etc

FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
The promoter of Bhat Bio-tech India Private Limited (BBI), Dr.
Shama Bhat, has leveraged his
35+ years of rich experience in R&D and manufacturing in the Biotechnology area, to
conceive this enterprise. An alumnus of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and the Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore, Dr. Shama Bhat is trained at the University of Connecticut
Health Center, Farmington, USA. Dr. Bhat strengthened the faculty of the Neurology
Department, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA from 1983 to 1994. His discovery
of Galactosyl Ceramide, as an alternative receptor for HIV in neural cells, won him both
universal acclaim as well as the undivided attention of scientific circles, the world over. Dr.
Bhat has over forty publications to his credit and is a recipient of the prestigious Ranbaxy
Award.
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Pavan Kumar. M the Managing Director of the company has 10 years of experience in managing
Biotech & Diagnostics Business. Mr. Pavan Kumar. M has a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology and
master’s in Business Management. He is responsible for the overall working of the company and is
instrumental in strengthening the company’s progress ahead.
